Polyamide 11/12

Polyamide 11 (PA11) - Rilsan®

A polymer produced from renewable raw material of vegetal origin, ricinus communis (castor seed oil), is an ecological thermoplastic that doesn’t release volatile organic components. Its advanced formulation doesn’t use pigments based on heavy metals or vulcanized agents. Developed over 50 years ago, it is a material with high performance level and with effective responses for an increasing number of applications.

It has notable physical and mechanical performance, including:

  Good resistance to wearing and UV;
  Good thermal stability and low humidity absorption;
  Low coefficient of friction
  Great mechanical flexibility;
  Potability according to NFA and FDA;
  Protection to saturated chloride environments, with tide variation zones, saline mist, organic compounds, industrial water, among others.

It may be applied in new or used metallic pieces, even with complex geometry.

Rilsan® is a trademark of Arkema.
